Assistant Financial Aid Director

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the Assistant Financial Aid Director position.

Under the direction of the Financial Aid Director, assist in supervising, planning and coordinating the activities and operations of the Financial Aid Office while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.  Process and package financial aid applications; prepare required federal reporting; advise students and families about the financial aid process; develop and maintain department policies and procedures; manage required electronic and technology resources; provide financial aid information and training to internal and external groups.  Some travel throughout the Panhandle of Nebraska will be required. 

Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred with major coursework in higher education, business administration, public administration, accounting, management, or a related field.  The position requires strong analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to perform detailed work under deadlines, in addition to providing leadership through excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Three years of relevant experience in student financial aid or a closely related field and extensive knowledge of financial aid administration preferred.  Experience with Ellucian Colleague student information system preferred.  Valid driver’s license required.
