A third party will pay my tuition. How does this work?

A third party is someone other than yourself (or your parents), who has agreed to pay part or all of your tuition and fees. Often these third parties are companies or corporations.

In order for the third party to be billed for a student registration, the student must obtain a WNCC Agreement to Provide Payment form at the time they register. (This file is in .pdf format. Download the Adobe Acrobat Reader here.)

After the third party payer has completed the form, it should be returned to the Business Office so they can be billed. Until the completed Agreement to Provide Payment form has been returned to the Business Office, the student will continue to receive registration statements and be liable for payment.

I have a refund on my account. How do I get it?

Refunds are processed every week. Checks are available on Fridays and can be picked up in the Business Office or mailed at the students’ request.

I have paid my tuition, but have cancelled my registration, withdrawn, or dropped classes. What kind of refund do I get?

Please refer to the WNCC Refund Policy for Tuition Only. Refunds are based on institutional time expended. Credit fees are only refundable the first full week of fall and spring terms and the first three days of summer terms.

For all Title IV recipients the college may be required to return to the federal aid programs the amount of aid received that was in excess of the aid “earned” for the time period the student remained enrolled.

The percentage of the semester completed is the percentage of aid earned: This is calculated by the number of days the student attended divided by the number of days in the payment period (i.e. semester). Students who remain enrolled through at least 60% of the payment period are considered to have earned 100% of the aid received and will not owe a repayment of Federal Title IV grant funds.

If the college returns funds to the Title IV aid programs, it could result in the student owing WNCC charges that were originally paid at the time of disbursement. Students may also be required to return funds released to them for personal expenses.

I have been awarded financial aid. Where do I pick up my money?

Financial aid is disbursed by the Business Office in Scottsbluff, and the Sidney and Alliance Centers.

Please refer to the college calendar to determine the first financial aid disbursement date. Once disbursement begins, refunds will be processed weekly.

To designate the location of possible financial aid refund checks the student can update information in MyWNCC Portal at https://www.wncc.net/mywncc. After logging in, click on the link to "update my name/address/phone number".

How does the Business Office apply financial aid awards to my account?

Scholarships, waivers, and federal/state aid are transmitted weekly to student accounts.

Waivers, unlike scholarships or other awards cannot be converted into cash, or refunded to a student.

When a student determines an expected award has been not transmitted to their account, they should contact the Financial Aid Office.
