Program Overview

The auto body service field offers virtually unlimited opportunity for the interested person who possesses ability, aptitude, training, and practical experience. The program, offered on our Scottsbluff Campus, is designed to offer the necessary laboratory and technical information to train students in all areas of the auto body field.

The Auto Body Technology curriculum uses a multi-level completion tier. Students are eligible for a Professional Skills Award at the end of one semester and continually upon completing six to 12 hours in Skill Areas. A one-year certificate, two-year diploma, or an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree are included in the tier approach. WNCC will train you on the most up-to-date collision repair technologies available including the following:

  • Computerized laser measuring of full frame and unibody vehicles
  • Structural adhesives and plastic repair
  • Computerized color matching
  • Custom paint and air brushing
  • Computerized estimating and shop management
  • Automotive electronics and inflatable restraint systems
  • I-Car Certification

Career Opportunities

The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2014, the median pay for Automotive Body and Glass Repairers was $39,260 per year. Growth in jobs in Automotive Body and Glass Repair for the decade 2014-2024 was projected to be 9%, as fast as average. Regulations published in the Federal Register on October 29, 2010 require institutions to report certain information to students who enroll in Title IV-eligible education programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation.
