Emerging Voices, a journal of literature and art at WNCC, is seeking submissions from area writers and artists.
Community people, along with students, faculty, and staff, may submit their original poetry, prose, photos, and artwork to the journal, which is juried by students and staff and co-edited by students Sherry Brunkhardt and Deanna Wilson. Non-WNCC contributors need to send a $5 submission fee payable to WNCC Emerging Voices, according to Janet Craven, journal advisor.
Poets may submit up to five pages of poetry, single spaced. Prose submissions should be double spaced and not exceed 2,500 words per piece. Writers may submit up to five short stories and/or essays. Artists should take a photo of their piece, save it as a high resolution compressed jpg file, and send it as an attachment to an email. The journal is printed in black and white, but color photos may be acceptable if there is enough contrast.
Submissions sent via postal mail should be postmarked by this date and sent to Emerging Voices, WNCC, 1601 E. 27th St. Scottsbluff, NE 69361. The magazine is released in early May each year. Writers and artists are notified after the final layout is submitted to the printer. For more information, email Craven or call her at 308.635.6121.
