What to Bring

 
  • Dorm size refrigerators
  • Microwaves
  • TV/game system/dvd, etc. If you have a roommate call before you buy you really only need one of each of the above
  • Computer and printer if you have them, both halls have 24 hours labs w/ printers
  • Don't forget your cell phone charger
  • A PHONE if you want a land line
  • A cable cord if you want cable TV (including HBO!)
  • A small fan
  • A plunger if living in Conestoga (hope you don't need to use it!)
  • Hangers
  • Food (no more perishable food than you can fit in the fridge remember you'll be washing dishes in the bathroom.)
  • Really good, Really LOUD alarm clock! (With snooze button)
  • Stereo/Ipod whatever you listen to PLEASE bring headphones
  • Sense of humor
  • Laundry bag, basket (if you fold), detergent, dryer sheets, etc. and directions on what to and what not to bleach! Laundry is: $1/wash, .50/dry - bring quarters
  • Sheets (Extra long twin), comforter/quilt and pillows
  • Good Judgment
  • Microwavable plates, bowls, mugs, and eating utensils
  • Dark chocolate for the hall staff
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Multi-socket outlet surge protector
  • An open mind
  • Sewing kit (at least some safety pins)
  • Clothes Fall semester is HOT/warm/cool/freezing, Spring is the opposite
  • Shoes (you really don't have to bring THAT many)
  • As many pairs of socks and underwear as the number of days in between which you plan to do laundry
  • Toys: balloons, bubbles, sports equipment, etc. for the few hours that you're not studying
  • Basic School Supplies: notebooks, pens, pencils you can get a lot of that here when you find out what your instructor prefers
  • Medicine cabinet items: Make-up, bathroom toiletries, pain relievers, allergy meds, your prescription medicine, TB&TP (toothbrush, toothpaste), etc.
  • Cleaning supplies (A gentle reminder Conestoga denizens will be cleaning their own bathrooms well supply toilet paper)
  • Reading lamp for studying
  • Fun-Tack to hang things on your walls we have new paint in both halls NO TAPE OR NAILS!

What not to bring:

  • NO Hot plates
  • NO toasters or toaster ovens
  • NO George Foreman type grills in the room, you may use them in the small kitchens
  • Closed mind
  • Candles, incense, (or anything else that you would burn)
  • Electric Blankets, bed warmers
  • Alcohol bottles, full or empty for decoration
  • Glade type plug in air fresheners
  • Bad attitude
  • Fireworks
  • Grills
  • Unwillingness to meet new people
  • Halogen Lamps
  • Pets (other than fish in no MORE than a 15 gallon tank)
  • Excuses
  • Waterbeds
  • Toaster ovens or any other cooking equipment. Use of these items is limited to the kitchenette.
  • Milk chocolate (LOL)
  • Weapons (this includes paintball guns, hunting gear, bb guns, knives, etc (except a regular size SMALL pocket knife.)

What is in my room?

  • Twin size loft-able bed and extra long mattress
  • Desk and chair
  • Dresser and either a bookcase (Conestoga) or top unit (Pioneer)
  • Utilities, including local telephone service and cable (telephone and cable cord are not provided)
