Career Pathways and Advising Director

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Career Pathways and Advising Director.

This 12 month, full-time Student Services position is responsible for the overall vision, management, leadership, and oversight of the Career Pathways and Advising Services, including career exploration, academic advising and testing; maintaining career resources; establishing student/employer internship opportunities; and facilitating job contacts between employers and students. This position will develop the new Career Pathways and Advising Center, which includes student-centered advising from first time enrollment to degree and certificate attainment, including transfer programs and pathways to completion and career pathway advising and services throughout. Coordination of assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies, follow through on grant requirements, including intentional and effective collaboration in regards to WNCC’s advising model. This position will provide responsible and complex administrative support to the Vice President of Student Services, and advising functions in collaboration with the Student Success Director. There is an expectation of a strong teamwork approach to the career pathways and advising services and partnership with Educational Services.

Master's degree in a discipline directly related to staffing, employment, student counseling, career development and planning, or other human resources concentration. Academic preparation in a guidance counseling, workforce development, student counseling, academic advising, student affairs, or higher education related discipline will be considered, if supported by directly related employer college relations, recruitment, or staffing experience.  Five years of related experience, including two years of administrative oversight and supervisory responsibility.  Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance.
