English Composition/Achieving College Success Instructor

Western Nebraska Community College is accepting applications for the position of English Composition/Achieving College Success Instructor at our Scottsbluff campus.

Provide instruction in the full range of transfer English composition classes, in combination with expertise and demonstrable experience in English developmental composition courses like Basic Writing and Developmental Writing. An ability to offer instruction in Basic Reading and Reading Techniques enhances eligibility. Will also provide instruction for Achieving College Success course.  Primary teaching responsibilities are at the Scottsbluff campus; travel is required to satellite campuses.  Requires learning-centered individual with documented abilities to deliver effective instruction using multiple media, including face-to-face, interactive TV, hybrid, and online delivery methods.  Coordination with Division Chairs on curricular development and delivery plus participation in initiatives relating to the assessment of student learning are required. Evening and weekend courses may be scheduled. 

Master’s degree in English or comp/rhetoric, or in a closely related field along with eighteen hours of graduate credit in English and experience which indicates the ability to fulfill the job requirements. The successful candidate will be able to accommodate learning needs of traditional, non-traditional, foundations-education learners, and at-risk students; community college teaching highly preferred.
