TRIO and Multicultural Director

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of TRIO and Multicultural Director.

This 12 month, full-time Student Services position is responsible for the overall vision, management, leadership, and oversight of the TRIO grants and for developing, implementing, and delivering multicultural/diversity/inclusion outreach, programming, and student support services. These offerings are planned to assist first-generation, low-income, military connected, single parent, historically underrepresented, and traditionally marginalized students' personal development, academic achievement, and completion. The Director will be responsible for supervision of professional staff with TRIO, military & veteran affairs, supplemental instruction, SPiN, Guadalupe Center and other outreach assignments. This position will supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of all staff responsible for providing grant programs within the college (including staff located in Rapid City, South Dakota); administer and maintain compliance with all aspects of United States Department of Education (USDOE) Title IV TRIO Grants (Student Support Services and Veteran’s Upward Bound); and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. This position will be engaged in leading activities that are intentionally designed to help create, support and sustain a more inclusively diverse community of students. This position also provides leadership and support to other campus programs, services and events, including Alliance and Sidney campuses, which create an engaging, diverse and healthy campus experience for the Western Nebraska Community College student body.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in student affairs, college personnel administration is required.  Master’s degree is highly preferred.   Four years of increasingly responsible experience in Federal Grants coordination and administra­tion, including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility. Direct experience with a diverse community of college students focused on multicultural/diversity/inclusion work.  Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance.
